This year, nonprofits and donors came together for a historic GivingTuesday 2024 to create a record-breaking day of generosity. Over $3.6 billion was donated in the United States alone, with over 36 million people participating in GivingTuesday through donations, acts of kindness, and volunteering. 5 Mighty Nonprofits That Made an Impact on GivingTuesday
With thousands of nonprofits using Mightycause to host their GivingTuesday campaign, we want to highlight six organizations and fundraisers on Mightycause that embraced the spirit of GivingTuesday to raise funds and grow their mission.
1. Self-eSTEM
Self-eSTEM’s Give Equity to Equity (GE2E) 2024 GivingTuesday campaign looked to expand and scale the operational capacity of their programs for bipoc innovators. They utilized peer-to-peer fundraising and Mightycause’s event fundraising tools to drive for their mission, amplifying the voices of bipoc women in STEM. Their campaign page offered a comprehensive view of their efforts, including a breakdown of how funds will be used, compelling reasons to give, a year-end giving supporter toolkit, and impactful stories from women who participated in their programs. They inspire donors to join their mission and have raised so far over $400,000!
2. Hilliard Food Pantry Plus
Hilliard Food Pantry Plus’s GivingTuesday campaign invited donors to join the effort to ensure no family in their community goes hungry. They showcased the power of donor support by highlighting past successes and setting ambitious goals for the future. By inspiring donors to be part of their growing mission to fight hunger, they surpassed their $100,000 goal!
3. Darkness Rising Project Inc
Darkness Rising Project’s GivingTuesday campaign focused on their nationwide REBUILD program, which helps fund 10 therapy sessions for formerly incarcerated and justice-impacted people of color and also connects them with culturally competent therapists of color. They created trust and transparency with their donors by providing a detailed budget breakdown and an infographic with key program metrics. They also shared and created content that showed the impact of their program. With hard work and the help of generous donors, they raised over $150,000!
4. Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)
The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) GivingTuesday campaign raised funds to support the care of elephants, the most expensive animal PAWS provides care for. PAWS provided a detailed cost breakdown for caring for these elephants. They broke down the cost by how much it took to care for one healthy elephant per month. PAWS raised over $60,000 for their elephants by offering transparency and clear impact to their donors.
5. Facing Forward to End Homelessness
Facing Forward to End Homelessness leveraged the power of peer-to-peer fundraising to rally their community for their GivingTuesday campaign. By encouraging supporters to become GivingTuesday Ambassadors, they empowered individuals to create personal fundraising pages, share their stories, and inspire others to give. They surpassed their goal and raised over $80,000, which would provide a full month of stable housing and supportive services for 80 families.
